Politics: More Deafening Silence from our Liberal Friends
COMING SOON: AMERICANS IN GITMO...Bill allows indefinite detention without trial...Obama 'demanded law apply to U.S. citizens'...
Here's an article from Slate in 1996 documenting President Bush's "10 Most Outrageous Civil Liberties Violations of 2006".
http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/jurisprudence/2006/12/the_bil...
Funny, I've searched Slate for the terms Obama Civil Liberties and no mention of civil liberty violations during Obama's term. But the 2nd article from the search is "Right Wing Media Paranoids Haven't Talked a Nut Into Shooting Anyone for Nearly Six Months".
And my liberal friends claim there is no media bias. Uh huh.

Food For Thought: What if we substituted "Jew" or "Politician" or "Redneck" or "Gay" for "Rich" ?
prej·u·dice [prej-uh-dis] Show IPA noun, verb, -diced, -dic·ing. noun
- an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason.
What if we substituted "Jew" or "Politician" or "Redneck" or "Gay" for "Rich". Would that then be OK?

Politics: Indian Tacos Out...Native Flatz In
What most know as "Indian Tacos", a combination of ground beef, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and fry bread...a favorite of mine and many other children who attended Putnam City Schools years ago, has been renamed "Native Flatz".
Tip for those attending the Oklahoma State Fair this fall, make sure you're looking for the Native Flatz food trailer and definitely NOT the Indian Taco stand lest you be considered insensitive.
Better yet, order a funnel cake just to be safe. You'll earn double sensitivity points as funnel cakes are vegetarian too so you won't offend Native American vegetarians.

Politics: Wow!
Not an endorsement. Politicians on both sides of the aisles do and say stupid things and its too early to make such important decisions.
But, wouldn't it be nice for President Obama to deliver such a message?
America is good. America is strong and America's best days are ahead of us. A positive message instead of apologies for the United States to other countries. A speech free of the negative, divisive and condescending nature of pretty much every Obama speech since his election. A message that doesn't reference "I" 50 times in a five minute speech. A message that doesn't blame George Bush for today's challenges almost 3 years into President Obama's presidency.
At least that decision can be made now. It's time for a new tone, a new message and a new hope for the nation. Funny. Obama was the "hope and change" guy at one time.
Fun: Out of the Mouth's of Babes
From my son 7 year old son Noah...
"Dad? What's the point of cotton candy? It's not cotton and its not candy."
Fun: "The Hard Way"
Last Sunday my son and I were washing our hands in an unfamiliar restroom when he asked which faucet knob was the hot and which the cold. I said I didn't know, he put his hand under the stream and immediately replied "Well, I guess I learned that one the hard way" in his usual, dead-pan, straight delivery as I chuckled at such a mature reply.
And last night, during my typical routine of asking him what he learned in school that day he said he learned that "lead turns to mush and dissolves in water". Puzzled, thinking that maybe it was a science experiment they'd completed at school that day I asked, "How did you learn that?"
"The hard way" as he explained that he accidentally dropped pencil lead into his water bottle and it turned to mush and disintegrated, chuckling again at his reply.
Politics: The War on Terror 10 Years In
This article "The 9/11 'overreaction'? Nonsense." by Charles Krauthammer should be required reading for ALL Americans but most important read by liberal Bush bashers, anti-war protesters and Obama apologists who trot out the tired old excuse that "the wars", wars which I might add, President Obama has not only continued but committed even more military and financial resources to in the case of Afghanistan, not to mention the new war in Libya that, "Bush's wars" are responsible for the poor economy President Obama has inherited as a result of President Bush's actions regarding the war on terror, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Regarding Afghanistan Krauthammer states "Afghanistan was utterly indispensable in defeating the jihadis then and now. We think of Pakistan as the terrorist sanctuary. We fail to see that Afghanistan is our sanctuary, the base from which we have freedom of action to strike Jihad Central in Pakistan and the border regions."
Regarding Iraq he continues "Al-Qaeda, uninvited, came out to fight us in Iraq, and it was not just defeated but humiliated. The local population — Arab, Muslim, Sunni, under the supposed heel of the invader — joined the infidel and rose up against the jihadi in its midst."
And to those Obama apologists who continue to blame Bush for bankrupting the country and leading to the current mood of despair and decline...
Rubbish. The total cost of “the two wars” is $1.3 trillion. That’s less than 1/11th of the national debt, less than one year of Obama deficit spending. During the golden Eisenhower 1950s of robust economic growth averaging 5 percent annually, defense spending was 11 percent of GDP and 60 percent of the federal budget. Today, defense spending is 5 percent of GDP and 20 percent of the budget.
It's a must read for every American, and most important, those liberal Obama apologists and Bush bashers who aren't intellectually honest enough to recognize it was Bush's policies, and continued and expanded in some cases under Obama that has prevented another attack, and the cost of the wars and their effect on the economy are inconsequential when compared to the impact entitlements have on our deficit.

Arts: Rush YYZ Cover...Amazing.
The following video is of an 11 year old covering Rush's "YYZ". It's a difficult song for 3 or more individual musicians to master, much less played by an 11 year old covering bass, drums and guitar at the same time. What a talented young lady. And one of the few women with an appreciation for Rush no less!
